Republican Politics

The Republicans on the other hand, under the watch of Thomas Jefferson and John Adams had feared that the Federalists were out to trying to establish a corrupt monarchial kind of society, exactly the same that once existed in Britain, along with the standing army, various government-subsidized monopolies and imposing high taxes.

This party of Republican, also known as the GOP or the Grand Old Party was founded in the year of 1854 by the opponents of the slavery in the southern part. It was in the year of 1860, when Abraham Lincoln had been elected the President because of the large support he received from the northern states.

These were very instrumental in the new turn of the political situation in America. They simply defended the constitution of the United States and it is owed to the theory of the Republican regarding the mixed government.
